Today, on this 2000 Mitsubishi Montero Sport, we're going to install part number 75075 from Draw-Tite. This is what the hitch looks like when it's installed on the vehicle. Next, we'll give you some measurements to help you out in selecting some accessories, such as a ball mount, a bicycle rack or a cargo carrier. From the top the receiver opening down to the ground will be 19 inches. The center of the hitch pin hole to the bumper will be about 1 inch. Trailer Hitch Installation - 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport- Video

Today we are going to install part number 13223 from Curt, and we are going to install this on a 2003 Mitsubishi Montero Sport. We will show you where the hitch mounts up on the frame. It reuses these existing holes where these bolts are right now. This tie-down hook actually gets taken off the vehicle and left off, and it is going to be the same thing on the passengers side, where this tie-down loop will get taken off as well. And these pieces will stay off the vehicle. Also, we did take down the spare tire, just to get a little easier working room, and the spare tire will go back up in its place when we are done. All right, when you take this down, there is a threaded fitting here which the hitch uses, too. We are going to take some time here and actually clean that out really good. Spray it down with some lubricant and run the bolt in and out. Sometimes, in an aged vehicle, you may have to run a tap through it to clean it out. more
